Heal Emotionally and Physically

There is a link between emotional and physical distress. There is an overlap and usually we experience them both at the same time. Can we experience physical pain without feeling negative emotions? How often is emotional suffering accompanied by physical sickness? And when we heal, we often have to recover from both at once.

Some of our diseases have no clear medical cause. When I have clients with fibromyalgia, for example, it always seems to be caused by past emotional traumas. When the memories of trauma are resolved, the physical pain is reduced or eliminated. People with depression, anxiety, phobias, and low self-confidence often suffer from physical problems like hypertension, obesity, heart attacks, and cancers.

There is a connection between the mind and body that cannot be ignored when we are thinking about our overall health. Optimistic people heal faster and better than pessimists. Mindfulness Meditation has been shown to help people with depression, anxiety, pain, and stress.

The healing methods I use are aimed at healing both physical and emotional problems, although sometimes using them for only one purpose heals another problem.
